CUSTOMIZED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
May Center for Learning is a nonprofit leader in the New Mexico education community, founded by New Mexico educators with decades of experience teaching in New Mexico’s schools. We are working in partnership with schools, districts, and the New Mexico Public Education Department to improve learning outcomes for students with learning differences and literacy outcomes for ALL children in New Mexico and beyond.
May Center can design a professional development program that is customized to the needs of your teachers. We work collaboratively with each partner to build on a school’s strengths and support growth for all students. Our expertise includes:
Improving reading and writing outcomes for all students, pre-k through high school.
May Center for Learning provides customized training in the science of literacy for classroom teachers, reading interventionists, special education teachers and school administrators. For more information about Structured Literacy and why evidence demonstrates it is the most effective way to teach all students to read, visit the IDA website.
Fostering an understanding of learning disabilities such as dyslexia and ADHD and how to support these learners in all classrooms.
Structuring the classroom environment to support executive function skills.
